MYKYLE is a South African born teenage male Singer, Songwriter/Producer from Johannesburg, who began creating music when he was 9 years old. At the age of 14 he co-produced, wrote and recorded his EP, the first single of which is due to be released in June 2017 in the spirit of youth month. Ceelo Green (Grammy Award Winner) discovered Mykyle when he was 11yrs old and has since been a mentor. A year ago Mykyle decided to leave his friends and social comforts of school to pursue his dream on the commitment to his parents that he not neglect his education. Mykyle has since exceeded his academic record to become an A-Student while he works as young musician. Mykyle was signed to an Independent Label called The G Frequency in October 2016.
He has chosen to collaborate with veteran music Executive Producer Emblazon/ProducedbyVAM and The Gobbla, co-producer of Nasty C’s Bad Hair album – SAMA Winner 2017.
Mykyle’s young talent has since developed into a fresh yet advanced style of songwriting and music arrangements, that are a trendy and eclectic mix of Hip-Hop and Urban/Electro-Pop with mature and clever lyrics on innovative beat compositions. Mykyle is passionate about making music that is authentic. In his music he speaks candidly about the experiences of the youth in his generation and his content has global and local appeal. He creates songs that aim to challenge industry convention, address themes of unfairness and capture the highs and lows of relationships as a teenager. One of the tracks on his EP is entitled Gold Lights (also the title of his forthcoming Album), which talks to his road to stardom, with an apt play of words being from the City of Gold. While his music is most relevant to the youth, his music has a sophistication that will appeal to broader pop culture across all ages.
Mykyle launches his first Single called “See Her” in June 2017.
Words he uses to describe himself: “Funny, Independent, Bold, Crazy, Intelligent, Rebel”.
His favorite Quote: “I do it because I can, I can because I want to. I want to because you said I couldn’t”
